How to install a Thrasher House T-Hook 1/19/2021
Lately I’ve been sending our these paracord loops with my swivels. They are a ton of fun to use and extremely easy to change out. So if you’re wanting to learn new combos you can use a longer loop and then when you have make that combo smooth you can speed it up by using a shorter loop. The ability to change loop length in a matter of seconds is a game changer.
How to make The Thrasher House T-Hook 1/25/2021
It’s a simple little hook but that’s it’s beauty. You can change cord lengths to change the timing in the ball. Normally to change the swing distance you need multiple speed bags. Now you can simply change out the T-hook for a longer hook when learning new moves or a short one for when you want to make that bad boy fly!!
Speed bag Swivels. Which is right for you? 2/3/2021
This is quick break down on a few swivels I had sitting out while punching holes in some EVO13s. One of the first questions I ask new baggers is what’s your end game when looking for a swivel? Do you wanna look like Rocky or Zach Ruffo, if you’ve never heard of him go watch this video real quick them come back and let’s get serious about which swivel you want to use. https://youtu.be/ExT6l4_euLI So you’re back lol, yeah, if you look Zach up on Instagram his handle is @speedbagskunk and if you want to speed bag like that you want a ball and hook, but if still just wanna go front to back, get toy a really good all bearing shortest action D-hook you can find. You can purchase the Evo13 on my website, https://www.thethrasherhouse.com/ in a variety of colors. I have the ability to punch holes in the 13s to match which ever swivel you are wanting to swap out. Everlast swivels you can get off their website and Amazon Title swivels are on their site along with Amazon. I haven’t used this but I’ve heard really good things about the Outslayer swivel on Amazon, really good and fast traditional D-hook. All ball bearings I don’t know much about Valor swivels other than the screw hole spacing lol. I’ve heard LMF has a really solid traditional style swivel, haven’t used one yet. If anyone want to volunteer one my way I’ll give it a go lol. — update on this, I finally got my hands on one of these and I was not disappointed!! Very fast action, this is by far my favorite Non ball and hook swivel that I’ve tried so far!! Forza d-hook is a great unit, it has the smallest screw hole diameter of any swivel I’ve used so far. Fits a #8 wood/Sheetrock screw like a champ, it has the same screw hole spacing as several other brands but they went with a smaller screw hole diameter. The Cleto Reyes swivel looks to be a true beast for traditional. I talked to a boxer who swears by his. If y’all have any other questions feel free to ask. The Porter 918 you can buy on eBay, if you get that let me know and I’ll help you make it quiet. The link below will take you to the kind of ball I use day to day and some commonly asked questions What kind of ball and how much air pressure do I use? 3/1/2021 https://youtu.be/Lqk4mBKI_mM
#1 The Forward roll, Speed bag 101 Thrasher style 1/20/2021
For anyone looking to learn the speed bag I’m telling you I wish like hell I would have found a video like this. I personally need my lessons slow and in chewable bites. Sometimes the videos I watch trying to learn even when slowed down are still so fast I’m left scratching my head. Lol I’ve learned a lot of stuff about the speed bag on Instagram, YouTube, and Speedbagcentral.com and thought I would start putting together a group of videos breaking down the bag the best I can in ways that make since you me. And that’s the biggest thing, you gotta find videos that make sense to you. I’m still pretty new at this, one week shy of a year as I type this. I can’t tell you how much it has helped me stay as normal as I could during all this mess lately. This may help some of y’all that are struggling with the triple beat to get your hands to know that magic spot. Slow it down and take you time. Clean form is absolutely everything about advancing your skills rapidly. The front roll is just step 1 into a world of AWESOMENESS!! Can’t wait to see you in the next video!! BUMPING!!
#2 Bumping and hammer fist, Speed bag 101 Thrasher style 1/21/2021
This is step 2 on the road to learning Thrasher House Style Bumping is a great tool! Not only is it cool as hell looking but it also is a great tool to help retain the brain on some of our programmed movements on the speed bag. This is teaching the brain that you hands don’t have to always move in a forward circular motion to mating ball control. And it makes doing lesson 3 a lot easier. Just take your time. If you get frustrated walk away from the BAG LOL!! It’s ok, WE have all been there too. The important part is to come back relaxed and excited to learn some cool and fun stuff. Bang on y’all!!
# 4 Linking, Speed bag 101 Thrasher style 1/23/2021
Linking was one of my favorite things to learn as a new speed Bagger. I had no idea you could hit the bag from the back side of the bag. I had watched endless hours of triple beat videos when I first started bagging, I had no idea there is a completely underworld to speed bagging. I felt like I entered into a speak easy once I started linking. Everything was so exciting again. When I discovered linking I thought I had learned all you could know about the speed bag. Holy SHIT was I wrong. This is just the beginning yall!!
#5 Reverse Triple beat, Speed bag 101 Thrasher Style 1/25/2021
One of my favorite tools to have in the bag of speed bag moves. The reverse Triple beat. When I learned how to speed bag I learned like everyone else. The front side triple beat and hit it as hard as you can from the front side of the bag for as long as you can. It looks impressive....till you see someone like Alan Kahn who is @speedbag1 here on YouTube and @speedbagbible on Instagram, or Speed bag Skunk killing these unreal returns then the blow it away with a crazy reverse triple beat. Every Bagger has their own flare and I love...I mean love when I’m in the zone drumming you’ll see me set my hips and shoulders ready for the triple triple reverse combo. Some times it’s easy to lear stuff when you’re being goofy with yourself....why be so serious when learning new things.
